20th century girl Korean drama (2022) Review

If you are a sucker for happy endings like me, this movie is not for you.

After I watched "Uncontrollably Fond" I said I will never ever again watch a K-drama with a sad ending. Life is already not that lovey-dovey itself and with everything going on in this world,

ALL I WANT IS A HAPPY ENDING THAT WE ARE BARELY SEEING IN REAL LIFE THESE DAYS!

"20th-century girl" was on my list and someone asked me to review it as well.

Okai, I didn't google the ending before I started watching like I usually do.
The trailer looked promising and it felt like a happy ending already.
Then boom! All hopes of a happy ending were dashed.

If you don't mind crying your eyes out at the end of a movie, watch it.

P.S.: I think all my neighbors heard me sobbing while watching it at 3 a.m.

"Have you ever felt your heart flutter so much, to be life-threatening?"

"Not sure why, but when I think of him my heart hurts a little, if this is love if this is what it feels like, then, I think I'm in love."

Dear K-drama/movies screenwriters,

Please stop hurting us by killing our favorite characters. We watch K-dramas and movies to find a happy place. Why do you keep shattering our dreams by separating people who are in love? I accepted that the second leads always have to end up aloneπŸ˜πŸ’”

STOP BREAKING OUR HEARTS, PLEASE!

The cast was amazing, I can't wait to see them in new K-dramas, especially Byeon Woo Seok, who was the second lead in "Record of youth" and I wished he had his own K-drama! And here he is, shining brighter than any star in "20th-century girl." The way he expressed his emotions and the way he looked at Bo Ra (Kim Yoo Jung) will make you want to be loved like this!

I don't want to be biased, but I'd watch any K-drama with Woo Seok in it.

I can't say that I didn't enjoy the movie, I did and a lot!

If only they had the happy ending they deserved.

The story of "20th century girl"

In 1999, a teen with a heart of gold begins keeping close tabs on a popular classmate as a favor to her smitten best friend.

Bo Ra is a 17-year-old, high school student. She is good at taekwondo and has a bright and positive personality. She is also a member of the broadcasting club at her school. Woon Ho is a member of the same broadcasting club. Bo Ra is best friends with Yeon Du, who attends the same school. Yeon Du has a crush on Hyun Jin. She asks Bo Ra to find out everything about Hyun Jin and goes to the U.S. to have heart surgery. After that, Bo Ra begins to observe Hyun Jin closely and she falls in love with him. School Korean Drama

"School" (South Korean anthology) This anthology has 8 seasons. From 1999 to 2002 (4 seasons) then after 10 years they rebooted with a new season in 2012 then  3 other series came after. πŸ“šπŸ“šπŸ“š This anthology shed a light on serious problems that occur in schools, like corrupt education, teen suicide, physical, mental abuse as well as bullying.  It is unacceptable that even these days are still happening without finding any solution. Certain events that happened and caused traumas for kids, should have been avoided if the system was more careful, if had more humanity, and if they started looking at the kids as human beings not just robots at school to get good grades and only get evaluated by this. You will learn a thing or two from these K-dramas. They are tough and sometimes you'll feel how cruel the world has been for them at times, let alone feel related because we all had been through something similar in one way or another.  Even the bullies are like this for a reas...

Kiss Goblin K-drama

Talking about the most underrated K-drama I have ever seen.    I still don't understand why he wants to be human... πŸ˜‚πŸ˜†  A 160-year-old goblin knew that in order to become human he needed to kiss 10 girls. The love story is very interesting.  He met a girl who is sick of people, who suffered from a horrible breakup and keeps saying that she hates people.  And look at her falling for a 160-year-old goblin... She works in a cafe and to add to the miserable things that happened to her, the customers were all rude and disrespectful. If you like supernatural, fantasy K-dramas this one is for you. The only thing I hold against it is that it has only 12 episodes, 12 minutes each.  Couldn't they make it a little bit longer? 😭😭😭 " You're my last kiss. If we kiss, we will forget our love together. " We settled this from previous articles, Bae In hyuk is one of my fave talented actors and they need to give him more dramas. I kept nagging until he finally got...

Do you know him? Shin Hyun Seung

We always give exposure to actors who are already under the spotlight. But can we talk about upcoming actors who deserve to shine like bright stars in the sky? Shin Hyun Seung is a South Korean actor who started his acting career in 2021 and already had his main roles in three K-dramas in one year. I watched one after another since I fell in love with his acting skills in his first drama, "Be My Boyfriend" 15 episodes, 13 minutes each Lee Seungmin is the definition of an everyday Joe. Non-popular and a nobody. And Oh Jina is an idol trainee and the most popular girl in school and Lee Seungmin has a crush on her. Then, one day Oh Jina suggested that they start a fake relationship. Can Jina and Seungmin overcome their complicated fake relationship and begin dating for real? I love this K-drama. End of review. Bye! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ "So Not Worth It" 12 episodes, 35 minutes each. New friends, new lovers, and new experiences collide within a vibrant college dormitory in Seoul th...
