Summer Strike. K-drama Review, Episode 1

I've seen too many K-dramas in my life, but nothing was as relatable as Summer Strike which was adapted from a webtoon called "I don't want to do anything".

Lee Yeo Reum (Kim Seol Hyun) lost her mother in a horrible accident and left everything behind. A successful job and a relationship that ended right before her mom's accident.

She decided to move to a small seaside village and do nothing at all until she recharged and recovered mentally. It's there where she meet An Dea Beom (Yim Si Wan), a stuttering librarian with skeletons in his closet. He was a bright prodigy in Math years ago and circumstances forced him to leave a big city and his academic life. What will happen to two lost souls who cross paths?

Will escaping to this small village truly cure their illness?

You have no idea how long I waited for Si Wan to be in a new K-Drama after "Run on" and since they announced that "Summer Strike" will be released soon, I was over the moon.

Episode 1:

This is how Summer Strike episode one started, with Yeo Reum saying:

"I've been running towards a place for something. I'm running as fast as I can. But ironically, I don't know where I'm supposed to go."

And she was dreaming that a classroom door was closed and she was screaming but nobody was hearing her.

Aren't we all at some point in our lives felt this way?

The way she explained her journey until that day before she ran away to the village, was painful and she described every arrival as a door closed and she was waiting behind it.

I wanted to slap her boyfriend and yell at him because he is so mean! She is the sweetest girl on earth.

I'm glad they broke up because he doesn't deserve her.

I hate her boss and how she was treated at work by her colleagues.
I just want this part of this Kdrama to be skipped until she goes to the village and meets An Dea Beom.

She is breaking my heart, I want to see her happy. Please...

Someone wrote my life story and turned it into a K-drama.

I have to admit it... this brought all the pain of losing my mother back, but it gave me comfort to know that I am not alone.

It was the most heartbreaking moment when she knew she saw her mom's dead body and she started remembering every moment they were together, especially when she told her that she will make lots of money and will take her to see the flowers and take her to the beach too. But she didn't get the chance to do that.

She told her that she will do everything for her and asked her not to age too quickly.

She didn't get the chance to do as she promised her mom, because her mother passed away before her daughter got the chance to fulfill her promises.

You know that one moment that changes your whole life, and there is a turning point where you can't go back? 

And that's how she left everything behind and started over... And that takes a lot of courage! I am talking from a personal opinion, from someone who has started over three times already!


She's finally smiling :)

The first episode was focused on Lee Yeo Reum. We barely saw a glimpse of An Dea Beom's life. For Si Wan lovers, you will see more of him starting the second episode.

NCT 127 - 2 baddies

P.S.: This photo of Taeyong stole my heart away! I have to say it! Taeyong's visuals are no joke! 💙💙💙 When "2 Baddies" was released it was the highlight of my day!  I didn't expect anything less from NCT 127, and the teaser of "2 Baddies" had me counting the days till this song was released!  Since the teaser was released I've dancing and singing along with it. So imagine how excited I was when the entire song was out! Oh! And I almost forgot to mention that after a couple of hours this song hit 38 million views! It's been just eight days and already reached 69 million views! "2 baddies" is an inspirational hip-hop song and the lyrics are about achieving success through running towards goals regardless of what others think or people's judgments. I know those kind of songs doesn't focus that much on the vocals  but their voices  took my breath away!  Wait... do I even need to mention their outfits?! Or their visuals, the art direc...
