Boys over flowers adaptations

Here are the 5 adaptations of Boys over flowers!

Oh! And did you know that "Boys over flowers" was a manga?

🌸🌸🌸

1- Meteor Garden - Taiwan (2001)

It wasn't the first adaption I saw, in fact, I only discovered it last year. It was the most difficult to find on the internet since it was extremely old, and the picture quality was horrible! But I didn't want to let it pass the opportunity to see all of the adaptations.

I enjoyed it although it wasn't my favorite version; the female lead though, Barbie Hsu, was phenomenal, and knowing me, I always cheer for the second lead. Yep, I have the second lead syndrome :p. Vic Chou who played the role of Lei, is the ideal friend, the support, the kindness, and he goes above and beyond for the female lead All this wasn't enough though, because, in the end, she picked the main lead, obviously!

I'd like to point out that all of the adaptations have outstanding casts; I didn't have a single complaint about them! They were all perfectly chosen!

The ending was OKAI... A happy ending but not the ultimate happy ending I was expecting!

2- Hana Yori Dango - Japan

(Season One 2005 & Season Two 2007)

Okai! Let me tell you about it! Jun Matsumoto, the major male lead, was the most amusing! Mao Inoue, the female lead, was fantastic! She was fantastic, as all of the females leads in all of "Boys over Flowers" adaptations.

And here comes the second lead syndrome again! HA! Rui was played by Shun Oguri. The second lead of course! Is there anything else I should say?

The entire cast was fantastic, and I adored them.

This was a lot of fun to watch, but it wasn't my favorite remake as well.

The ending was just awesome! This adaptation ranks third on my list of happy endings of "Boys over flowers" adaptations.

🌸🌸🌸

3- Boys over Flowers - South Korea (2009)

My very first K-drama! My very first Korean drama! It made me fall in love with South Korea, its culture, K-pop and everything related to the "K" world.

Ladies and gentlemen! Yes! It was love at first sight!

I recall waiting for one episode week after week! Yeah! Yeah! The struggle was real!

By the way, I watched it 5 times.

My first K-drama crushes were Lee Min-ho, the first main lead and Kin Hyun-Joon, the second main lead! But wait till the end to find out who captured my heart!

And let me tell you, the rest of the F4, Kim Bum and Kim Joon were as spectacular!

Koo Hye-sun, the female lead, was a total badass! She ranks second on my list of "Boys over Flowers" female leads.

As much as I enjoyed the entire K-drama, I especially enjoyed the ending when I saw it for the first time! But hold on to what will happens next in number four...

🌸🌸🌸

4- Meteor Garden - China (2018)

My absolute favorite "Boys Over Flowers" version.

Dylan Wang, my number ONE main male lead all five adaptations!

The second main lead Darren Chen is my second fave because Kin Hyun-Joon from "Boys over Flowers" South Korea will always be my number one second lead.

Caesar Wu, Connor Leong, from this Chinese adaptation and the rest of F4 from the South Korean version of "Boys over Flowers" are my number ONE!

Shen Yu, the female lead, is my number ONE! She's pretty, funny, and tough, which is a beautiful combo!

This was the longest adaptation, and I enjoy short dramas more, and this one had 49 episodes! !!! (exclamation from your agent because I didn’t resist…too bigJ)

She can't resist, she always writes funny notes while editingπŸ˜…πŸ˜†

Despite its length, I watched it three times! And it's on my re-watch list.

(OMG- also from your agent…I might forget to tell you personally)

Well, she can't resist. πŸ˜…πŸ˜†

OKAI! Some things I said will not make sense unless you watch at least one of the adaptations.

You can always return to this article for spoilers!

This one has the HAPPIEST ENDING!

🌸🌸🌸

5- F4 - Thailand (2021)

This is the most recent adaptation!

I was impatiently waiting for this one, and by the way, it was delayed and I was

terrified that it would not be aired!

However, the first episode was released on December 18, 2021, and it was well worth the wait!

The entire main cast was outstanding!

Tu Tontawan, the female lead and Bright Vachirawit, the male lead, were fantastic; what I'll remember most about Bright was the expressions on his face and eyes that look so real!

Cindy Bishop is a Thai fashion model that played Thyme, the main lead mother excellently.

Dew Jirawat was an adorable second lead, ranking third on my list of the top second leads.

By the way, in all adaptations, I almost rooted for the second leads, but when I realized how much the main leads evolved in the process, I gave them a second chance!

The ending was OKAI! It didn't end with a ring and a wedding dress.

The ultimate happy ending feeling I got was in the middle of the episode (SCREAMING INTERNALLY!)

There was a scene in the middle that made up for the OKAI happy ending I experienced at the end.

🌸🌸🌸

If you ask me which version I recommend if you don't want to watch them all, follow your heart because even though "Meteor Garden - China was my favorite adaptation, I won't be able to tell you. Honestly, personally.

I'd say watch them all!

🌸🌸🌸

There is a C-drama called "Moon River" that I saw a lot of reviews saying that it's a "Boys over Flower" adaptation, but it's not.

There is a similarity, the female lead Pets Steng is a strong girl who joins a prestigious college and the male lead Sam Lin is a cold, insanely handsome and popular boy.

The group of boys is a trio not like the F4.

I will make a full review of it soon.

Kiss Goblin K-drama

Talking about the most underrated K-drama I have ever seen.    I still don't understand why he wants to be human... πŸ˜‚πŸ˜†  A 160-year-old goblin knew that in order to become human he needed to kiss 10 girls. The love story is very interesting.  He met a girl who is sick of people, who suffered from a horrible breakup and keeps saying that she hates people.  And look at her falling for a 160-year-old goblin... She works in a cafe and to add to the miserable things that happened to her, the customers were all rude and disrespectful. If you like supernatural, fantasy K-dramas this one is for you. The only thing I hold against it is that it has only 12 episodes, 12 minutes each.  Couldn't they make it a little bit longer? 😭😭😭 " You're my last kiss. If we kiss, we will forget our love together. " We settled this from previous articles, Bae In hyuk is one of my fave talented actors and they need to give him more dramas. I kept nagging until he finally got...

Rest in peace my MoonBin

April, you broke my heart... I never thought I will come back to my blog after that long break to write about losing my MoonπŸ’” I will miss you, my angel. You kept comforting us with your words, but I wish you listened to them, my baby idol, my heart. Forgive us πŸ˜₯ we failed to protect youπŸ’” Will K-pop stop being a happy place? Will K-pop keep breaking our hearts? All I think about now is how to help spread awareness since I am a writer and all I have is my words. K-pop industry, PLEASE PRIORITIZE OUR IDOLS MENTAL HEALTH. They are our safe haven, they save us and the guilt we are experiencing now is no joke! Because we can't protect our idols, and apparently our love for them is not enough, not that I am complaining, NO, but they need people close to them supporting them not making them feel as if they are machines for making money only, our idols are humans and deserve to be loved.  πŸ’”πŸ’”πŸ’” We keep loving and supporting and protecting them as much as we can, words are powerful...

School Korean Drama

"School" (South Korean anthology) This anthology has 8 seasons. From 1999 to 2002 (4 seasons) then after 10 years they rebooted with a new season in 2012 then  3 other series came after. πŸ“šπŸ“šπŸ“š This anthology shed a light on serious problems that occur in schools, like corrupt education, teen suicide, physical, mental abuse as well as bullying.  It is unacceptable that even these days are still happening without finding any solution. Certain events that happened and caused traumas for kids, should have been avoided if the system was more careful, if had more humanity, and if they started looking at the kids as human beings not just robots at school to get good grades and only get evaluated by this. You will learn a thing or two from these K-dramas. They are tough and sometimes you'll feel how cruel the world has been for them at times, let alone feel related because we all had been through something similar in one way or another.  Even the bullies are like this for a reas...
