Jackson Wang is more than just an idol, he was an athlete who also rejected Harvard to pursue his dream "MUSIC."
I still remember the day Jackson said, "I wrote a song about my life" and it was the first time that Jackson wrote something that personal. I couldn't wait for his song to be out.
I knew that he left China and his parents when he was young but I had no idea what he'd been through to get to where he is now.
When the song was finally released, I couldn't wait for the translation, I listened to it and as music is a universal language I felt that just knowing that it was my idol's story was enough to win my heart.
He inspired me all along with his hard work, but learning this about him made me love him even more.
These two parts of the songs made me realize why without even knowing his full story
I choose him, to be IDOL.

Being homesick, seeking some hometown food
I found a place at the exit of Konkuk University Metro Station Line 2
I was following the map wandering around
Until I heard a familiar language in front of a restaurant
I went in and I ordered a fried rice
It was a simple dish but I felt really happy
I was also talking to the owner lady and when I was almost done eating
She gently patted my head and told me don’t worry about the bill
She was saying “must be tough to be here all alone at such a young age”
She turned to the kitchen and asked the chef to add a few more extra fried eggs to my bowl
And on the way home, tears fell down upon my eyes
The weather was really cold but my heart felt the warmest that day

Jackson Wang was the very first member of Got7 to catch my eyes.
The Jackson I know is a man who built an empire, who proved to me that from nothing I can become everything. The serious idol who works so hard.
The way he treats the members of Got7 and the way he treats his fans keeps dazzling me.
